Electric water heater is a tank that hold water inside and electric water heaters used high-voltage heating elements to warm the water in the tank, most electric water heater use 240 V alternating current to operate, electric water heater have two heating elements in the water heater, one near the middle of the tank and one near the bottom. Each element is controlled by their own thermostat, and thermostats maintain the water temperature inside the tank by opening and closing continuously allowing voltage to flow to the heating elements. The heating elements on the highest available setting is usually 150°F. Most manufacturers recommend that the temperature be set at 120°F.
